EFSCA Conference 2026 in Ostrava – Day 3 concludes the conference with wonderful memories.

Closing #EFSCA2026: Even great events eventually have to come to an end!

Three days, countless insights, and one shared mission: making Europe safer through innovation and collaboration. The EFSCA Annual Conference 2026 in Ostrava has been a resounding success – but before we say goodbye for now, let’s recap the final day!

Leveraging Technology for Training: The Power of Moodle
The last presentation of this years conference showcased how the Moodle learning platform is transforming fire service education. From organizing training modules to conducting exams, Moodle offers a flexible, scalable solution for modernizing firefighter education. Because the best training isn’t just about knowledge – it’s also about accessibility and engagement.

EFSCA General Assembly: Shaping the Next Chapter
EFSCA Board led a productive General Assembly, where members reviewed progress, discussed financials, and set the stage for the upcoming years.
We are especialle happy that Arvid Graeger was re-elected by the delegates as EFSCA President for the next three years, ensuring continuity in our mission to standardize and elevate fire service training across Europe.

Before the conference drew to a close, it was a particular pleasure for the Board to present our former Treasurer, Marek Hütter, with the Gold Medal in recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the EFSCA. Furthermore, we were especially delighted to award the Gold Medal to Jiri Fojtik, Head of the Czech Fire Service College, for organizing such an exceptional conference, and to present the Silver Medal to Hana Stastnikova and Zdenek Belik – representing the entire organizing team – for their fantastic support.

In the end a heartfelt handover to Finland, represented by the new Vice-President Mervi Parviainen and Minna Hirvonen, reminded us that EFSCA’s strength lies in its continuity. Next year, we’ll gather in Kuopio to keep pushing boundaries!

Key Takeaways from #EFSCA2026:

  • Technology is a game-changer – from simulations to drones, innovation is saving lives.
  • Cross-border cooperation isn’t optional – disasters don’t respect borders, and neither should our response.
  • Training is the foundation – whether it’s radio communication or wildfire response, preparedness starts with practice.

A Big Thank You to our hosts from the Fire Service College in Ostrava, the EFSCA team, and every delegate who contributed to these inspiring discussions – you are the reason this network thrives. Let’s take what we’ve learned back to our organizations and make a difference!
